Focal points are an essential element to a room. A focal point can be architectural or decorative. If a room does not have an obvious architectural focal point like a grand window or a fireplace, create a decorative focal point with a large piece of art, sculpture, or a big botanical arrangement. Then, work your furniture arrangement and color concept around the focal point to tie the room together.
